In November 2002 Ashleigh Hall was in an automobile accident. At the time of the accident Ashleigh was 6 years old. She suffered spinal cord injuries which has left her paralyzed from the belly button down. At The Children’s Hospital of Austin, Ashleigh was found to have a dislocation in the cervical spine, a crushed nerve in her back and a pinched nerve in her neck; she underwent surgery for a fusion to her back and neck. After the operation she was required to wear a spinal brace in the form of a vest. She wore the brace for 3 months. After she was released from CHOA (Children’s Hospital of Austin) she was transferred to Christus Santa Rosa Rehab Hospital in San Antonio, Texas where she was admitted for in-Patient therapy for the duration of her hospital stay.
